This will be where I post stuff to give the listeners a behind the scenes look into the game. Whether you join us for a livecast or just listen to the podcast this stuff will appeal to you. I think..lol…

  1. I can’t find an email address on here so I just figured this was the best place for feedback. Putting an email or email form on the site would be a great idea.

So I’ve tried to get into your podcast a couple times. I’m really trying hard. I realize most adventures in any game take some time to get going. I realize it also takes some time to figure out a groove in general. I just wanted to drop some feedback that was going through my head. Feel free to take it or leave it. I’m no podcast production expert but I’ve listened to my share.

I decided to jump a few episodes and go to episode 14 since it was slow going for me. I really loved and got into the whole going into the wastelands (do I have that term right?) business…. Then episode 18 happened without much explanation until the end. The *static* then change was very confusing. I thought maybe I had just zoned and missed something so I hit rewind and listened again a couple of times. Then I decided just to keep listening then got an explanation at the end. I understand the logic behind putting that all together and not two different episodes but it would have been better to have two episodes or at least a better explanation in the beginning.

As for your intro, we get it, life. I actually skip about 3 minutes into the podcast now. Keep it short and relevant. We don’t need excuses. A good, “sorry for being late, you know how it goes ” or maybe a “sorry, no podcast next week, but we’ll return the week after ” is cool too. If the work load is too much, focus on doing it bi-weekly until you find a groove and all. Maybe enlist some help with editing from a friend. Make a back log so if you have to miss am episode then drop one in.

I also find it very difficult to focus on your podcast because of the constant dubstep music. It becomes a sort of white noise. That might just be me but I figured I’d mention it. It makes sense because dubstep can apply to Shadowrun but it’s not adding to the atmosphere or game. I’d suggest no music at all or some ambient music. It’s off-putting more than its drawing me in as a listener. The dubstep isn’t bad, I actually like a good deal of it so it has nothing to do with genre or preference. Stuff from the Dues Ex soundtrack would be good for this. Don’t be afraid of some silence. General ambient music is good too. Might be able to find some royalty free stuff with no problem.

I’d really like to keep listening to this podcast. You’re doing a good job! Making a single episode is hard work and that’s on top of gm’ing, both of which are time consuming. There really needs to be more good Shadowrun actual plays out there. They’re isn’t nearly enough.

    • Thank you for taking time to write such a lengthy message to us. I really appreciate hearing feedback from people and I shall definitely take what you wrote into great consideration as some of the issues you addressed I have had similar feelings on. I will definitely be trying out some new stuff with the next couple of episodes so please stay tuned for that and let me know if you have any other concerns.
