Welcome to Geek the Mage, home of an actual play Shaodwrun podcast that following the thrills, kills and spills of a group running the shadows of Neo-Tokyo. This game mixes canonical information with good ole homebrew stuff in order to give a unique look into the world that we have come to love, hate and know over the years. We will be using the 5th edition rules for our game which we will be playing on roll20, our sessions will not only be broadcast live via Twitch but we will also be putting them out in a podcast.

So get ready to delve the depths of the 6th world with our band of…professionals(?)…as they try and claw their way to the top of the mountain. Regardless of whether they succeed or crash it is going to be one hell of a ride.

Follow me on twitter @PhistoRoboto to keep up to date on news about this game as well as get an insider look.

    • We are in fact using the 5th edition street level rules! As for houserules, I am using a little bit of them in order to speed up/smooth out gameplay as not only is the group new players but also because it is a game we broadcast. I try and stick to the rules as much as possible but if I feel it will bog the game down I will make a decision on the spot that makes things fluid, or at least try to lol. Is there anything in specific you were curious about rule wise? If I know the specifics I can answer better.

      • Thank you for the Reply, Did you change any of the rules of character creation or use everything from the book? It seems some gear was higher rating than the book allowed. Also what books are you using? just the core book or are you using others?

  1. All of it should be according to the rules. Limit of 10 Availability and Device Rating 4. Most of the party are using Heavy Pistols and then there is Augustus is using a shotgun and a chainsaw and Fenrir is just a broken Adept Mage lol.

    • Ahh ok, after rereading the rules I see what you mean, I thought the Device Rating was the Accuracy rating. Thanks for the help on clearing that up. I also love the chainsaw/shotgun.
